Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in San Diego, California. This role is critical to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, ensuring efficient operations and customer satisfaction. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and implementing inventory control procedures to minimize loss and errors. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy will be paramount in this position. You will work closely with warehouse management and other departments to ensure seamless inventory flow. You will be expected to perform tasks involving occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and consistently wear appropriate PPE.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct physical counts of inventory items on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and report any potential shortages or overages.
  • Identify and report damaged or obsolete inventory.
  • Assist with receiving and put-away processes as needed to ensure proper stocking.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies regarding warehouse operations.
  • Perform data entry and generate inventory reports.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Must be able to adhere to strict safety guidelines and wear required PPE at all times.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving moderate physical activity, including occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
