Our Richmond, Virginia facility is seeking a diligent and organized Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. This role is essential for the smooth intake of goods into our warehouse. You will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all incoming shipments, ensuring that the correct quantities and types of products are processed efficiently. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy are crucial for success in this position. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight from various carriers.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately document all received items in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Tag and label received products according to company procedures.
- Stage received goods for put-away by other warehouse personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate any receiving issues or discrepancies to supervisors promptly.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in warehouse receiving or a related logistics role is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and product labels.
- Proficiency in using WMS or similar inventory tracking software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of using PPE.
- Dependable with good time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
