We are seeking a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Nashville, Tennessee. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, packaged, and dispatched in a timely manner. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth flow of goods through our distribution network, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. You will be working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, handling various types of products and preparing them for transit. Attention to detail is paramount, as is the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This position offers a great opportunity to grow within the logistics industry. Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Verify shipping information and ensure the correct items are packed and shipped.
- Inspect packages for damage and ensure proper packaging materials are used.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain an organized and clean shipping area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory management and stocktaking as needed.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track shipments and update records.
- Support other warehouse operations as directed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping or a related logistics role is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring moderate Lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with shipping software and procedures is beneficial.
- Commitment to Safety in all aspects of the job.
