We are on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic Property Development Team. In this role, you will take full responsibility for preparing, managing, and reporting all financial costs related to new gym developments and existing refurbishments. You will also play a vital role in fostering a culture of best practices and continuous improvement within the team.

*Internally, this role is referred to as Cost Manager.

• Provide sound commercial judgment at key stages of the property development process, presenting recommendations through appropriate governance forums.
• Assess high-level feasibility for potential new sites and create clear, detailed pre-acquisition cost plans.
• Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks, contributing to budget and capex investment approval processes.
• Advise on legal and contractual issues, including pricing and sourcing of construction materials.
• Manage tendering of Main Contractor works and oversee post-contract cost management through to final account.
• Drive efficiencies in design and procurement to reduce Capex spend.
• Review project data to clarify and analyze budgeted costs versus final costs, enhancing the budgeting/benchmarking process.

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Quantity Surveying, with strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Experience in delivering multi-site development or refurbishment projects, ideally in large-scale, customer-facing sectors like leisure, hospitality, or retail.
• Sound commercial judgment, remaining calm and decisive when challenges arise.
• Clear and confident communicator, able to present commercial information straightforwardly and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong relationship builder with internal teams, external partners, and contractors, ensuring collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Detail-oriented, able to follow processes accurately and manage workload independently while meeting deadlines.
• A positive team player, contributing to shared goals and supporting colleagues to achieve high-quality outcomes.
• Committed to continuous improvement, seeking better ways of working and evolving cost management practices.
