In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all aspects of the shipping and receiving process. Your duties will include unloading trucks, verifying inventory, preparing shipments for dispatch, and maintaining accurate records. This position is critical to the smooth functioning of our warehouse operations and requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills. We prioritize a safe working environment and expect all employees to strictly follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with physical tasks, including regular lifting, and possess a keen eye for detail to prevent errors. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues immediately.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders according to specifications.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely.
- Keep the shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Perform tasks that require regular lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or general warehouse operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and product labels.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and order processing.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
