$65.00 to $80.00/hr. W2 Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
Enhance Snowflake data models while following best practices in data warehousing.
Implement and optimize ELT and ETL processes to transform raw data into formats ready for analysis.
Create and maintain dimensional models and semantic layers for business analytics.
Develop and sustain backend APIs in Python to provide robust data access and integration.
Produce clean, production-quality Python code, ensuring thorough documentation and testing.
Craft RESTful APIs that connect our data infrastructure with various applications and tools.
Establish robust data validation, quality checks, and monitoring frameworks.
Utilize Azure services such as Data Lake, SQL, and Functions to create comprehensive data solutions.
Set up CI/CD pipelines and implement infrastructure as code to streamline data workflows.
Manage cloud resources effectively to optimize both cost and performance.
Ensure compliance with data security, governance, and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to clarify project requirements.
Transform business needs into effective technical data solutions.
Document data pipelines, workflows, and system architecture meticulously.
Participate in code reviews and promote best engineering practices.
Experience Requirements: 3 to 5+ years in Data Engineering or a related field.
Proficient in Python for data engineering and backend development.
Extensive experience using Databricks, including PySpark and Delta Lake.
Hands-on expertise with Snowflake for data modeling and performance optimization.
Familiarity with Azure services like Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL.
Strong SQL skills, particularly with relational databases.
Experience with Git for collaboration and code management.
A deep understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes.
Knowledge of data formats such as Parquet, Avro, and Delta.
Experience building and enhancing data pipelines for large-scale applications.
Strong foundation in data quality, governance, and security standards.
Experience with dbt for transformation workflows is a plus.
Familiarity with streaming technologies such as Kafka is preferred.
Experience using orchestration tools like Apache Airflow is a plus.
Proficiency in data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is preferred.
Understanding of DataOps and agile methodologies is advantageous.
Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform is a plus.
Knowledge of data mesh or data lakehouse architectures is a plus.
Education Requirements: Preferred Azure certifications include Azure Data Engineer Associate or Databricks certifications.
