We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our team in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role is essential for ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of all outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for processing shipping orders, preparing documentation, and coordinating with carriers, making you a key part of our logistics operations. A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of shipping procedures are crucial for success in this position. Your commitment to accuracy and adherence to safety protocols will be highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Process all outgoing shipments, verifying orders and contents.
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and ensure proper packaging.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipping status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE .
- Assist with receiving functions as needed, which may involve some lifting .
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and organization of the shipping department within our logistics framework.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and WMS.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of shipping carrier procedures and regulations.
- Physical ability to perform tasks, including occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety rules and wearing required PPE .
- Understanding of warehouse and logistics operations is beneficial.
