We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage outbound shipments from our New York City, New York facility. This role is essential to our logistics network, ensuring that all orders are accurately documented, packed, and dispatched on time. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, maintaining shipping records, and ensuring compliance with all shipping regulations. Your role is key to maintaining seamless logistics and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and shipping manifests.
- Generate shipping labels and ensure accurate product and destination information.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy, completeness, and proper packaging.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and files for all outbound orders.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipping status.
- Adhere to all company policies, Safety regulations, and shipping compliance requirements.
- Ensure all employees in the shipping area are utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with packing and staging of shipments, which may involve some Lifting of packages up to 50 lbs.
- Contribute to a culture of Safety and efficiency in the shipping department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics or administrative role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with various shipping carriers and their requirements.
- Understanding of Safety protocols within a shipping and logistics environment.
