Reporting and Monetization team
is responsible for developing backend systems that ensure all Coinbase Prime events are translated into reliable, audit-ready records. We deliver critical services for client reporting, billing, tax outputs, and account statements for prominent institutional clients in the crypto space. As a Senior Engineer, you will spearhead technical initiatives that directly impact Coinbase’s revenue and the trust of our core customers. Your Responsibilities: Create new services that address essential product and business needs using Golang.
Design scalable systems to tackle unique challenges with modern cloud technologies and best practices.
Establish a long-term vision for enhancing our backend systems and supporting teams.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate technical objectives into a clear roadmap each quarter.
Produce high-quality, thoroughly tested code based on customer requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile: A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering.
Expertise in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services with a solid grasp of service-oriented architecture.
A commitment to delivering high-quality, well-tested code meeting client needs.
A passion for creating an open financial system that connects the global community.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience navigating rapid company growth (from startup to mid-size).
Familiarity with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks.
Knowledge of blockchain technology (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum).
Experience in breaking down a large monolith into microservices.
Knowledge of technologies such as Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
Background in building financial systems with high reliability or security emphasis.

The expected annual base salary range for this position is between $186,065 and $218,900 USD, depending on location. Total compensation may also include equity, bonuses, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)). Please note that candidates may submit up to four applications within a 30-day period.
