We are excited to announce an opening for a Senior IT Security Architect, focused on Acquisition Integration. Overview As a Senior IT Security Architect within our Information Security group, you will play a crucial role in securely integrating newly acquired companies into Cardinal Health’s technology and security frameworks. This position drives the secure and efficient transition of acquired entities’ IT security programs, tools, and processes to align with Cardinal Health’s standards, while effectively managing risk and optimizing costs. Responsibilities Lead Integration Strategy:
Formulate and implement robust security integration strategies for new acquisitions, ensuring alignment with Cardinal Health’s security standards and best practices.
Risk Analysis:
Conduct thorough reviews of security diligence reports and prioritize remediation efforts with a focus on risk mitigation.
Tool Optimization:
Evaluate security tools within acquired companies and implement strategies for their transition to Cardinal Health’s security stack, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Architectural Guidance:
Provide oversight and direction for security architecture in managed services during post-acquisition integration.
Design Alignment:
Develop and document security architectures that adhere to Cardinal Health’s reference architectures and technical standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Serve as the liaison between the security teams of acquired companies and Cardinal Health’s internal functions to define security needs and facilitate smooth onboarding.
Controls Implementation:
Ensure the deployment of appropriate security controls throughout the acquisition integration process.
Security Operations Onboarding:
Collaborate with the SOC to prepare for onboarding new assets, defining monitoring requirements and response plans.
Policy Integration:
Assist in aligning acquired entities’ security policies with Cardinal Health’s established frameworks and compliance standards.
Vendor Management:
Provide expertise during the vendor selection and contract negotiation processes to ensure security requirements are met.
Emerging Technology Assessment:
Advise on the secure integration of new technologies from acquired firms into Cardinal Health's security ecosystem.
Knowledge Sharing:
Mentor team members on acquisition security integration best practices and common challenges.
Qualifications Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are preferred.
Extensive experience in critical security domains including endpoint security, network security, and identity management.
Deep understanding of security frameworks like NIST, ISO, HIPAA, and PCI DSS.
Proficient in risk management methodologies, particularly in integration contexts.
7+ years of Information Technology experience, especially in cybersecurity architecture or security program management, particularly with mergers and acquisitions.
Proven experience with tool rationalization and cloud security strategies.
Strong strategic thinker with capabilities to convert high-level goals into actionable security plans.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to meet security objectives.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
Experience in conducting security assessments and managing remediation across varied technical environments.
Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
Prior experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is highly preferred.
