Reporting and Monetization team
is responsible for developing backend systems that transform every Coinbase Prime event into precise, audit-ready records — facilitating client reporting, billing, tax documentation, and statements for the most significant institutional clients in the crypto arena. This role centers on high-volume, event-driven pipelines and scalable services that the entire institutional platform relies upon. As a Senior Engineer, you will spearhead technical initiatives that directly influence Coinbase's revenue generation and maintain trust with our most strategic partners. Your Key Responsibilities: Design and implement innovative financing products and features.
Develop new reporting and monitoring tools, frameworks, and APIs.
Define a long-term vision for scaling our backend systems.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate our product and technical vision into actionable roadmaps quarterly.
Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet the needs of our clients.
What We Are Looking For: Minimum of 2 years of experience in software engineering.
Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services, with knowledge of service-oriented architecture.
Proficiency in writing high-quality, well-tested code to satisfy customer requirements.
A strong passion for building an open financial system that unites the world.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Blockchains (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.).
Experience in breaking down a large monolith into microservices.
Proficient in Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or Redshift.
Experience building financial systems that prioritize high reliability or security.

Depending on your work location, the target annual
base salary
for this position ranges as follows. Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility, along with benefits (medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
