Motivation and Problem Statement
Management decisions require an integrated view of operational performance and financial results. In practice, however, the reporting landscape is often fragmented: data is available in different systems but is evaluated in a function-specific and isolated manner without a company-wide, consistent link between operational key figures and financial results. As a result, cause-and-effect relationships along central business processes remain opaque, and strategic control impulses can only be derived to a limited extent.
