Job Description We invite you to join our dynamic team as a
Senior Principal Software Engineer
with a focus on our
Identity & Access Governance (IAG)
services. This is an opportunity to showcase your technical leadership while expanding into cross-organizational initiatives that matter. Your background as a
Software Engineer , paired with robust
DevOps/SRE-level
skills, will allow you to develop software systems that are reliable and secure from the start. As a key player, you will apply your extensive experience in developing and operating distributed cloud services. You will have a solid understanding of control plane architecture, service-to-service communication, and what it takes to design for a production-grade environment. Collaboration is essential; you will work closely with Engineering Managers, Architects, and Technical Program Managers while guiding engineers at various levels. Your expertise will shine as you produce architectural documentation, lead peer reviews, draft production code, and improve build/deploy pipelines. Be prepared to lead incident responses when necessary, maintaining a healthy balance between speed and quality to elevate our systems through automation, instrumentation, and clear engineering standards. Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of essential capabilities across IAG services, focusing on building scalable, secure, and operational software.
Set the technical direction for reliability patterns, including
SLIs/SLOs , error budgets, and operational readiness.
Enhance the developer-to-production lifecycle by improving:
CI/CD pipelines
Automated testing and validation
Infrastructure-as-code practices
Smart deployment strategies
Implement a culture of
observability by design , enriching metrics, logs, traces, and alerting quality.
Act as a
technical escalation resource , managing high-severity incidents and leading real-time triage.
Conduct root cause analyses and transform incidents into engineering solutions through automation.
Mentor teams to design operable systems and elevate engineering quality through reviews and coaching.
Support security initiatives, including threat modeling and operational controls for regulated environments.
Qualifications BS in Computer Science or related field (MS preferred) or equivalent experience.
10+ years of software development experience with distributed services.
Strong in modern programming languages (e.g.,
Java, Go, C++, Python ) and production code delivery.
Ability to lead the design and continuous improvement of major service capabilities.
Deep understanding of distributed systems principles.
Solid knowledge of cloud architecture, specifically
control plane
and operational designs.
Experience establishing
DevOps practices
including CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
Debugging skills across networking and persistence layers, with knowledge of databases.
Experience leading high-severity incident responses.
Solid understanding of Linux environments.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve high-quality outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms ( OCI preferred ; AWS/Azure also valuable).
Familiarity with container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.
Experience in multi-region/multi-availability domain environments.
Track record in implementing reliability programs such as SLO adoption and resilience testing.
Experience with compliance environments (e.g.,
FedRAMP, PCI DSS ) supporting audits.
Skilled in threat modeling and risk analysis.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
is strongly preferred.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will shape standard practices and help in the design and development of software systems. Please note certain roles may require compliance with immunization and occupational health mandates. The hiring range for this role in USD: $96,800 to $251,600 annually. Bonuses, stock options, and deferrals may be available based on eligibility. Salary determined by skills, experience, market conditions, and location.
