The Enterprise Data Services Department's Customer Data Ecosystem Operations Team is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer - AI Lead to be part of our transformative Cloud Modernization journey. This role is a fantastic opportunity to integrate data from diverse systems and create high-quality data products that drive actionable insights. You will use an array of AI and Cloud technologies, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and compliance while addressing various analytics needs, including descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive use cases for visualization and advanced data science. We are looking for candidates with a wealth of experience in data engineering frameworks and tools such as Spark and Snowflake, programming languages like Python and SQL, and familiarity with DevOps/DataOps pipelines and cloud platforms like AWS. Your knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and modern architectures such as Lakehouse and Data Mesh will be valuable assets. Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication, and the capacity to collaborate effectively are essential, along with a proactive approach to tackling challenges in a dynamic environment. To excel in this position, you should possess critical thinking skills, technical expertise, and the ability to identify the underlying causes of business challenges. This position entails a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office attendance three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) at one of our locations in Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT, or Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities: Design and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data. Mentor junior team members and foster best practices to deliver top-tier data and AI solutions. Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to realize the vision of AI and data pipelines while ensuring scalability and data integrity. Ingest and process large datasets into the Enterprise Data Lake and other systems. Curate and publish Data Products for analytics, visualization, and machine learning applications. Work alongside data analysts, scientists, and BI teams to create data models for reporting and advanced analytics. Implement data modeling, governance, and security best practices across all solutions. Partner with cross-functional teams to achieve high-value outcomes. Monitor and optimize data pipelines for improved performance and reliability. Automate data integrity checks to maintain high standards of quality. Develop resilient data pipelines with self-healing mechanisms. Utilize tools for scheduling and orchestrating complex workflows. Adopt CI/CD methodologies for automated testing and deployment of solutions. Lead Proof of Concepts and technology evaluations to inspire innovation. Create AI-driven systems that enhance data capabilities while adhering to industry best practices. Implement data observability standards to monitor data quality and lineage. Required Skills & Experience: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis and development, ideally with 2+ years in insurance or a similar industry. 3+ years of experience in developing large-scale data applications on cloud platforms like AWS and Snowflake. Strong skills in SQL, Python, and ETL tools (e.g., Informatica IDMC). Experience designing data models for Data Warehouses and optimizing for performance. 3+ years of experience in processing large datasets, both batch and near-real-time. Knowledge of AI solutions leveraging modern tools and cloud technologies. Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban. 2+ years of experience with DevOps pipelines for continuous integration and delivery. Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI. Ability to analyze data sources and translate business needs into actionable solutions. Nice to Have: Certifications in AWS Data & Analytics Services, Snowflake, and Informatica IDMC. Experience in AI agent integration in data workflows. Knowledge of data governance practices. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. Compensation: The annualized base pay range for this position is $135,040 - $202,560, based on experience and qualifications, in addition to a range of other rewards. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
