Personal Support Worker

Le Havre Lafontaine, a friendly private seniors' residence located in Rivière-du-Loup, is seeking a person to fill a full-time evening position as a Personal Support Worker. ***Candidates must hold a Personal Support Worker/Personal Care Attendant (PSW/PAA) or DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in Personal Assistance in Institutions and at Home, or a RAC (Recognition of Acquired Competencies) certificate, or have accumulated 5,000 hours of PAB (Personal Support Worker) experience within the last 5 years.** We offer group insurance, telemedicine, an employee assistance program, and more!

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Schedule: Full-time evening position; schedule to be discussed.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adhere to standards and regulations in accordance with private seniors' home certification and employer policies
• Administer medication in accordance with safety principles and the codes of ethics
• Answering call bells
• Assist and/or accompany residents in getting around
• Contribute to the adjustment of a residents' action plan based on their observations
• In collaboration with the different teams, carry out health and hygienic care to the residents while maintaining their dignity and integrity .
• Proactively assist and support the residents
• Respond to all emergency situations
• While interacting with them, report any noticeable changes in a residents mental or physical health to the on-call nurse.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• PDSB training
• Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
• AP/RPA or DEP training in personal assistance in establishments and at home
