Location: Austin TX/Denver CO.
We are seeking a client-facing Lead Engineer with strong expertise in database design and development using PostgreSQL and Snowflake, along with hands-on experience in Java-based microservices and API development/consumption. The ideal candidate should be capable of designing scalable data solutions, building robust APIs, and working closely with client stakeholders while supporting a hybrid onsite-offshore delivery model.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the fintech/payments domain and exposure to data catalog and metadata management tools.
Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable, high-performance database solutions using PostgreSQL and Snowflake. Build and optimize data models, schemas, and queries for efficient data processing and analytics. Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices using Java. Enable seamless API consumption and integration across enterprise systems. Act as a primary point of contact for client stakeholders, participating in requirement discussions, solution design, and status updates. Provide technical leadership and direction to offshore teams, ensuring quality, timelines, and alignment with client expectations. Support onsite coordination, including issue resolution, design decisions, and delivery governance. Implement best practices for data governance, security, and performance tuning. Work with or support data catalog tools to manage metadata, lineage, and data discoverability. Required Skills & Experience:
Strong experience in PostgreSQL and Snowflake (database design, development, and performance tuning). Hands-on experience with Java and Microservices architecture. Experience in API design, development, and consumption (RESTful services). Solid understanding of data modeling and distributed systems. Proven experience in a client-facing role with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work effectively in an onsite-offshore delivery model.
