Position Objective
The person in the Business Analyst III position supports the development and continuous improvement of enterprise business systems and processes. Business Analyst III completes individual assignments of moderate complexity with help from more experienced business process specialists. Provides support to business users and subject matter experts.
Dimensions
Collaboratively works with Information Technology Solutions (ITS) staff within the work group and software developers. Supports and trains business users and subject matter experts. Assists with vendor relationships.
Nature and Scope
Works under limited oversight of an experienced business process specialist or Information
Technology Manager.
This role ensures standard work is defined, monitored, and supported, acceptable service level is achieved in compliance with internal policies and procedures and external laws and regulations.
The job duties include gathering business requirements, testing process or software changes, creating, and leading user acceptance test scripts and writing training documents/job aids.
Principal Responsibilities:
To apply knowledge of enterprise business processes and systems to solve business problems and assist customers in achieving business goals. This position links the business unit operations and the ITS organization for enterprise business process improvements.
Supports development and continuous improvement of enterprise business systems and processes.
Supports business users and subject matter experts.
Performs business process analysis: prepare as-is and to-be workflows, identify any configurations, and/or enhancements required to implement the to-be processes.
Develops user stories, use cases, and functional specifications to document business requirements and acceptance criteria.
Works closely with the product owner, scrum master, developers, and testers to ensure the successful delivery of ERP enhancements.
Completes individual assignments of moderate complexity with help from more experienced business analysts.
Reviews the work of other enterprise business analysts.
What you Need to Have:
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent discipline.
Technical Excellence:
4 to 6 years of experience in ERP business processes and systems
Moderate knowledge of enterprise systems, such as Enterprise Resource Planning, Customer Relationship Management, Supply Chain Management, Product Lifecycle Management or Human Resource Management.
Working experience in Baan or Infor LN.
Preferred candidates will have experience in Infor LN modules such as Projects, Purchasing, and Planning.
Should be able to work with onshore and offshore teams and provide leadership.
Analytical Thinking:
Strong analytical skills and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Communication Skills:
Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Process Improvement:
Must have a passion for enabling change

Summary Pay Range:
$108,834.00 - $163,252.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
