Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test embedded hardware and firmware for manufacturing equipment and automation. Integrate embedded systems with existing production lines, machinery, and industrial control protocols. Diagnose and resolve complex embedded systems issues on the factory floor to minimize production downtime. Optimize embedded software and hardware for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in a manufacturing environment. Develop and maintain robust firmware for microcontrollers, FPGAs, and real-time operating systems (RTOS). Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., mechanical, electrical, production) to define requirements and implement solutions. Ensure embedded system designs and implementations comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations. Recommended Qualifications
Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development. Experience with common microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) and ability to read hardware schematics. Hands-on experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS or Zephyr. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP). Proficiency with debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and embedded testing methodologies. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET). Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 13849). Background in industrial automation, robotics, or motion control systems. Understanding of manufacturing processes and production line integration.
