Title - Cyber Security Engineer (High Level) Duration: 2+ Years Location: Chicago, IL

Job Description: Implements and maintains cybersecurity measures including network defense, vulnerability management, and incident response; collaborates with IT and DevOps teams to safeguard cloud and on-prem systems. Partner with Illinois DoIT to ensure Okta and SailPoint configurations to meet state and federal cybersecurity standards; implement access monitoring controls.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field; 6+ years experience in security engineering; experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM tools; relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP) preferred.
Sample tasks • Implement network security controls within Azure Gov environment. • Deploy and monitor endpoint protection and intrusion detection systems. • Remediate security vulnerabilities identified during audits or scans. • Collaborate with DevOps to integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines. • Support incident response and root cause analysis for security events. • Partner with Illinois DoIT to ensure Okta and SailPoint configurations meet state and federal cybersecurity standards; implement access monitoring controls.
