We are seeking an experienced and certified Forklift Operator to join our critical logistics team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary duties will involve loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials within the warehouse, and supporting inventory management processes. A thorough understanding of warehouse operations and a strong commitment to safety are essential. You will be expected to conduct daily inspections of your forklift, ensuring it is in proper working order, and adhere strictly to all company safety protocols. The correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all times. This position requires precision and efficiency to maintain the smooth flow of goods and support our overall logistics objectives. You will work collaboratively with other warehouse personnel, including receivers, pickers, and packers, to ensure timely completion of tasks. The ideal candidate possesses a valid forklift certification, a proven track record of safe operation, and excellent attention to detail. Experience with various types of forklifts and warehouse management systems is a significant advantage. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, stack, and transport inventory within the warehouse.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers accurately and safely.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with receiving and put-away of incoming goods.
- Support order picking and packing operations by staging materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through proper movement tracking.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Wear required PPE, including safety shoes, vests, and hard hats as needed.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Contribute to efficient warehouse logistics and material flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety procedures and forklift operating best practices.
- Knowledge of PPE requirements and their importance.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
