As a Shipping Clerk, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all outbound shipments are accurately documented, packaged, and prepared for dispatch, playing a vital role in our logistics network. Your responsibilities include verifying order details, selecting appropriate shipping methods, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. This role requires strong organizational abilities, excellent attention to detail, and the capacity to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. While most tasks involve administrative and logistical coordination, there may be instances requiring lifting or moving packages. Adherence to all safety guidelines and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is essential. The ideal candidate is computer-savvy, possesses strong communication skills, and has prior experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field. - Process and prepare outgoing shipments accurately.
- Verify shipping information and select appropriate carriers and services.
- Generate shipping labels and customs documentation as required.
- Package items securely and appropriately for transit.
- Coordinate with trucking companies and other logistics providers.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Conduct final checks on orders before dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations.
- Adhere to company safety policies, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and warehouse organization as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience in shipping or logistics roles.
- Proficiency with shipping software and systems (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to perform occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Understanding of safety procedures and PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
