Job Summary:
Our Houston, Texas distribution center is looking for a highly organized and analytical Inventory Control Specialist. This crucial role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of our warehouse inventory. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse logistics. Key responsibilities include performing regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, managing stock adjustments, and implementing process improvements to minimize variances. You will collaborate closely with warehouse operations, logistics, and purchasing teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and efficient stock rotation. A commitment to workplace safety, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to analyze data effectively. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform accurate stock adjustments and maintain integrity of inventory records.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and improve accuracy.
  • Develop and refine inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy in the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient material flow and storage.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
  • Generate regular reports on inventory accuracy, stock levels, and variances.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with WMS and other inventory management software.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Knowledge of logistics and warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and the use of PPE.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
