We are hiring a Shipping Clerk for our Grand Rapids, Michigan location. This role is critical for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all outbound shipments. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining organized shipping areas. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Coordinate with common carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Perform basic warehouse duties as needed, including some lifting of packages up to 30 lbs.
- Maintain a clean and safe shipping area, adhering to all safety guidelines and the use of PPE.
- Assist with general administrative tasks related to logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk, logistics coordinator, or administrative assistant in a warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to perform some physical tasks, including light lifting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
