In this vital role, you'll be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that our inventory is accurately documented and processed. You will be responsible for meticulously checking in all deliveries, verifying quantities against shipping manifests, and identifying any discrepancies or damages. This position is fundamental to our supply chain management and requires a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills. As a Receiving Clerk, you play a critical part in maintaining the integrity of our inventory system, which is essential for efficient warehouse operations and logistics. We are looking for an individual who is reliable, thorough, and committed to upholding our high standards for accuracy. This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to a busy and dynamic distribution center. You'll work closely with vendors, drivers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth flow of goods. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify the contents of deliveries against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for any damage or defects and report issues promptly.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Stage incoming goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Communicate with suppliers and internal departments regarding shipment discrepancies.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.
- May involve some light Lifting and moving of boxes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or inventory control role preferred.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures is important.
- Understanding of Logistics flow from receiving to dispatch.
