Are you a skilled problem-solver with a knack for maintaining equipment? Our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Technician to ensure the optimal performance and **Safety** of our warehouse machinery and infrastructure. This role is critical to our **Logistics** operations, focusing on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of various warehouse equipment, including forklifts, conveyor systems, and racking. You will be responsible for keeping our operations running smoothly and efficiently, minimizing downtime, and ensuring a secure working environment. Your technical expertise will be invaluable in supporting our ongoing success.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, and other machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with warehouse equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of warehouse infrastructure, including racking and loading docks.
- Ensure all equipment is operated safely and in compliance with **Safety** regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and emergency repair needs.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment.
- Ensure all technicians and operators are using **PPE** correctly and safely.
- Understand **Lifting** requirements and assist with safe material handling when necessary.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of **Logistics** through reliable equipment performance.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a warehouse or **Logistics** environment. Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals. Experience with various types of warehouse machinery. **Safety**-conscious mindset and knowledge of OSHA regulations. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Must be able to perform moderate **Lifting** and work in varied warehouse conditions. Familiarity with **PPE** requirements and safe operating procedures. A certification in a relevant trade (e.g., forklift repair) is a significant asset.
