Join our fast-paced **Logistics** hub in San Antonio, Texas, as a Shipping Clerk! We are looking for an organized and efficient individual to manage the accurate and timely dispatch of outgoing shipments. This role involves preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, ensuring packages are properly labeled and loaded, and maintaining a clean and organized shipping area. The Shipping Clerk plays a vital part in our supply chain, ensuring our customers receive their orders on time and in perfect condition. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will be key to success in this demanding yet rewarding position.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL freight) to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments, ensuring correct items and quantities are included.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping dock and warehouse area.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, carriers, and customer service regarding shipment status.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any shipping-related issues promptly.
- Adhere to all **Safety** regulations and **PPE** requirements.
- Perform necessary **Lifting** of packages and materials.
- Ensure all shipments meet **Logistics** compliance standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse environment is a plus. Strong organizational and time management skills. Basic computer proficiency, including data entry. Ability to perform manual tasks and **Lifting** up to 40 lbs. Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals is beneficial. Must be comfortable working in a warehouse setting and adhering to strict **Safety** guidelines, including the consistent use of **PPE**. A solid understanding of **Logistics** principles is advantageous.
