Join our bustling logistics hub in New York City, New York, as a Receiving Clerk. This role is fundamental to our supply chain, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately documented, inspected, and put away efficiently. The Receiving Clerk will be the first point of contact for inbound shipments, verifying quantities and checking for any damage. Your role will involve using our warehouse management system (WMS) to process receipts, assign locations, and prepare goods for distribution. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from vendors and carriers.
- Verify packing slips against purchase orders and actual goods received.
- Inspect items for damage and report any discrepancies or issues.
- Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS) accurately.
- Stage goods for put-away or further processing.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve receiving discrepancies.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving area.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a related logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in using scanners and basic computer systems, particularly WMS.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform tasks involving standing, walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to procedures.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and material handling.
