We are looking for a diligent Material Handler to join our logistics team in Washington, D.C. This role is essential for managing the flow of materials within our facility, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all handling processes. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for moving, organizing, and preparing materials for shipment or storage. We are seeking individuals who are physically fit, possess strong organizational skills, and are committed to upholding safety standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other manual equipment to move materials.
- Load and unload materials from delivery vehicles and into warehouse storage.
- Transport goods to designated staging areas, production lines, or storage locations.
- Assist with inventory control tasks, such as receiving, stocking, and cycle counts.
- Ensure proper labeling and organization of materials.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, adhering to housekeeping standards.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and meet operational goals.
- Support the overall logistics function of the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to perform manual lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Understanding of basic warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to ensuring a safe work environment.
