We are seeking a certified Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. A strong commitment to safety, a valid forklift certification, and experience operating various types of forklifts are essential. You will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of our warehouse and ensuring timely fulfillment of orders. We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and a team player. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE, is paramount. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled forklift operator to contribute to a leading logistics company.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Stack and arrange materials in a safe and organized manner.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Ensure proper lifting techniques are used when necessary, though primary focus is forklift operation.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
