Join our fast-paced logistics operations in the heart of New York City, New York, as a Material Handler. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient movement and organization of goods within our facility. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including loading and unloading materials, operating material handling equipment, and keeping the warehouse tidy and safe. We emphasize Safety above all else, and all team members must strictly adhere to Safety regulations and wear the appropriate PPE. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of a major distribution hub in a demanding urban environment.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from delivery trucks and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas, shipping bays, or production zones.
- Stack, sort, and organize inventory according to established procedures.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock verification.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment in all areas.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Report any hazards or equipment issues to management immediately.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse capacity is highly desirable. Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment. Must be physically capable of performing tasks requiring frequent and substantial Lifting of up to 50 pounds. Good understanding of warehouse logistics and Safety protocols. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and accurately. Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding and fast-paced urban environment. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. A strong and unwavering commitment to Safety is paramount.
