We are seeking a highly skilled Warehouse Technician to join our advanced logistics center in Houston, Texas. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of warehouse equipment, ensuring the optimal performance of our operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and technical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a deep commitment to safety. You will perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on essential equipment such as conveyor systems, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), forklifts, and other material handling machinery. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing operational downtime and maximizing productivity. We emphasize a culture of preventive maintenance, and you will play a key role in its implementation and continuous improvement. This position requires a solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, as well as rigorous adherence to safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE. The ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently is essential. You will work closely with warehouse management to schedule maintenance and ensure all equipment meets stringent operational standards, thereby supporting our overall logistics network. Some lifting of equipment components, up to 75 lbs, may be necessary. Our commitment to a safe working environment is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on all warehouse equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues promptly.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure all equipment operates in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse management to schedule maintenance tasks and minimize disruption.
- Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Safely operate machinery for diagnostic and testing purposes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a warehouse, distribution, or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with logistics and warehouse operations.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
