Are you organized and detail-oriented? We are looking for a skilled Receiving Clerk to manage incoming shipments at our Portland, Oregon facility. This role is vital to our logistics operations, ensuring that all goods entering our warehouse are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for unloading trucks, inspecting deliveries for damage and discrepancies, and properly documenting all received items. This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work with various types of inventory. While direct lifting is part of the role, it is typically within a manageable range, with the need to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks accurately and safely.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Document all received items in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label received inventory appropriately.
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments regarding shipments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role preferred.
- Familiarity with WMS or inventory tracking systems is a plus.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capability to perform lifting up to 35 pounds occasionally.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
