We are hiring a skilled Material Handler for our facility in Madison, Wisconsin. As a Material Handler, you will play a vital role in the efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse and production areas. This position requires individuals who are strong, reliable, and possess a keen understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols. You will be responsible for operating various pieces of equipment to move, stock, and retrieve materials, ensuring a smooth workflow for our logistics and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and committed to contributing to a productive and organized work environment. Your expertise is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring materials are available when and where they are needed.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and production lines.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and supplies to and from designated areas.
- Stock and retrieve materials from warehouse shelves and storage locations.
- Perform regular inspections of material handling equipment and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counting and stock verification.
- Ensure all materials are handled and stored according to safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient material flow and support overall logistics operations.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Proven ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory control principles.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work different shifts if required.
