Our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to support our growing logistics operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as loading and unloading trucks. Operating equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (certification required for forklift operation) will be a key part of your daily tasks. Maintaining a clean, organized, and secure work environment is essential, and adherence to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is required. This position involves significant physical demands, including frequent lifting (up to 55 lbs), standing, walking, and reaching. If you have a strong background in material handling, a dedication to safety, and a proactive approach to warehouse operations, we want you on our team.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts if certified).
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Receive, identify, and store incoming materials accurately.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
- Perform basic maintenance checks on equipment.
- Support shipping and receiving functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs frequently.
- Experience with pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics and safety standards.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to wear required PPE and adhere to safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
