is seeking a
Database Administrator
for a hybrid opportunity in Columbia, SC, 2 days onsite a week (Candidates MUST be SC residents). The candidate will support and optimize enterprise-level database environments that power critical statewide systems, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and security. This role will partner closely with development, analytics, and infrastructure teams to enhance database operations, reporting capabilities, and governance standards.
Required Qualifications of the Database Administrator:
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies. 7+ years of experience administering and supporting SQL Server databases 3+ years of experience with database performance tuning and query optimization 3+ years of experience supporting data integrity, governance, and quality efforts 3+ years working with data warehouse environments and reporting platforms 3+ years of experience implementing database security and compliance standards 3+ years of experience with automation, scripting, or DevOps-related database support Strong experience troubleshooting blocking, deadlocks, and long-running database processes Hands-on experience with backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning Preferred
Skills / Experience
of the Database Administrator:
Experience supporting government or highly regulated environments Power BI backend performance tuning and optimization Familiarity with .NET data access and application integrations Experience with Always On Availability Groups or clustering Exposure to Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tools Experience working with and modernizing legacy data structures Responsibilities of the Database Administrator:
Administer and maintain SQL Server environments, ensuring availability, reliability, and performance Monitor and optimize database performance, including queries, indexing, and stored procedures Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions Support data warehouse processes and improve reporting performance for analytics platforms Strengthen database security, monitor access, and ensure compliance with data standards Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data quality, governance, and deployment processes Work Location:
Hybrid in Columbia, SC (2 days onsite a week) Candidates must be SC residents
