We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. This role is integral to our logistics operations, supporting both receiving and shipping departments. You will operate various equipment, load and unload goods, and ensure that materials are organized and accessible. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and storage areas.
- Move materials to and from production, shipping, and receiving areas.
- Stack and organize materials in designated locations.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock put-away.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Follow proper lifting and material handling techniques to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient logistics.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial trucks is a strong asset.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items, up to 70 lbs, throughout the shift.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe lifting and material handling practices is essential.
- Willingness to wear required PPE, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and gloves.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical stamina and dexterity.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all regulations.
- Must be available for flexible scheduling, including potential overtime.
