Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team in the Shipping/Logistics industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for picking up and delivering empty trailers while ensuring timely and safe operations. As a licensed professional with a clean driving record and a minimum of 3 years of experience, you will operate spotter vehicles and assist with customer pickups and deliveries. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a Class A CDL truck to transport empty trailers between designated locations.
- Ensure all loads are secured and comply with safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure operational safety.
- Utilize a spotter vehicle to assist in the loading and unloading processes.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to facilitate efficient operations.
- Handle trailer movement within the yard safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle maintenance.
- Document all relevant information to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Submit required documentation in a timely manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and pickups.
- Communicate effectively with customers to address any concerns or inquiries.
- Ensure that all interactions reflect positively on the company.
- Work Monday to Friday, with flexibility for overtime as needed.
- Adhere to delivery schedules and adjust as necessary to accommodate customer needs.
- Collaborate with the operations team to optimize routes and service delivery.
- Education: Valid Class A CDL license is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Class A CDL Truck Driver.
- Previous experience in forklift operation is desired.
- Proven track record of safe driving and adherence to traffic regulations.
- Skills: Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Strong communication skills for effective customer interaction.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD) and report documentation.
