Function
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for identifying and analyzing data regarding Citadel's members and prospective customers, making recommendations and providing insight to Citadel leadership in critical decision-making that drives attainment of strategic and business objectives, including growth and sales. The Senior Engineer will design and create analytic solutions to assist various departments in the planning, management and measurement of product development, customer service, sales and marketing. The Senior Engineer will partner directly with the IT team responsible for building and developing the platform. The Senior Engineer will make appropriate data accessible and available for the organization and will be able to develop creative solutions to process large volumes of non-traditional data. They will be responsible for understanding and investigating state-of-the-art techniques in advanced data analysis. Strong experience using a variety of data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, with a proven ability to drive business results with data-based insight.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Product teams and other Citadel business leaders to determine and prioritize needs for customer data.
Analyze, identify, and determine the existing processes for capturing and updating data elements and make recommendations on any necessary changes to support better use of the data
Provide data insights to support the development of Use Cases - partner with the business to capture and document Business Requirements, Business Definitions, Data Definitions, Visual Requirements, and Test Scripts.
Apply various analytic methods to discover and interpret information about customer and prospective customer behavior from multiple data sources, including Citadel's website, social media, customer account data, data from external partners, and other sources.
Compile data from multiple data platforms and integrate data into actionable learnings.
Analyze a particular use case and recommend an appropriate data architecture
Collaborate with IT to develop or adopt relational databases, and in the sourcing and capture of other significant data elements.
Desired interdisciplinary skills include cloud technology, big data technologies, extract transform and load (ETL) tools and a general understanding of statistics
Lead and participate in cross-functional teams
Manage relationships with outside service providers and internal stakeholders for efficient and effective results.
Manage a data analyst
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Work Experience
5+ years related data management and analysis experience, including experience in consumer behavior data mining and analysis
3+ years related experience developing database solutions / applications
Supervisory/managerial experience
Retail banking or other financial services experience. Preferred
Experience with marketing, sales or customer service, including digital and traditional. Preferred
Proficiency in specialized database software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
2+ years of experience with Python
5+ years of experience with structured query language (SQL)
CRM experience Preferred
Demonstrated ability to break down and analyze multi-dimensional business and technical issues. Experience in integrating information from a variety of resources, formats and systems.
Excellent analytical skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrate adaptability when interacting with internal clients. Maintain confidentiality, promote integrity, and support the corporate mission.
Ability to collaborate on and lead projects.
