This is a remote position in which we are able to employ in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, or Wisconsin Our ideal Analytics Data Engineer candidate will have: Deep experience designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines that support healthcare analytics, population health, quality measurement, and regulatory reporting within a health plan environment. Expert in integrating and transforming complex healthcare data sources-including claims, enrollment, clinical (EHR), pharmacy, eligibility, and social determinants of health-into reliable, analytics'ready datasets. Proven partner to analytics, actuarial, clinical, and business teams, enabling insights for value'based care, HEDIS, STARS, CMS, and state reporting. Experience in data architecture, ETL/ELT development, data quality governance, and performance optimization, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and data lineage. Skills in translating business requirements into technical solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and decision'making across the organization.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
(e.g., computer science, data science, statistics, or equivalent) required. Five (5) years experience in data analytics or engineering, with at least three (3) years focused on data modeling and transformation within a healthcare environment required. Advanced experience in SQL and data transformation workflows (ETL/ELT) required. Experience with Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold data layers) required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Data Modeling: Expertise in designing broad, multi-functional data sets that allow for cross-departmental trend analysis (financial, quality, and care management). Ability to build flexible data models utilized in downstream analytics tools (PowerBI, AWS QuickSight, Looker, Tableau, etc.). Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify and resolve inefficiencies in reporting requests by creating self-service solutions that reduce administrative burden and support department leaders. Communication: Skilled in translating technical data structures for non-technical department heads to improve overall organizational data literacy. Scalability: Understanding of how to build data models that support growth. Integrity: Commitment to building objective data models that prioritize mission-driven performance. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare data sources, including claims, clinical data, and population health metrics. Familiarity with software best practices, including Git repositories, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
