We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to manage the incoming flow of goods at our busy Chicago, Illinois distribution center. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for all inbound shipments, responsible for accurately recording, verifying, and stocking received items. Your meticulous approach will ensure the integrity of our inventory data and support the smooth functioning of our logistics operations. This role involves verifying purchase orders against delivered items, inspecting for damages, and entering data into our inventory management system. While not always heavy, there will be occasions requiring lifting, and adherence to safety guidelines, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. - Receive and unload incoming shipments.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect deliveries for damage and shortages.
- Accurately document all received items in the inventory system.
- Stage received goods for put-away or distribution.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
- Assist with inventory control as needed.
- Support the overall logistics and warehouse operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a receiving or inventory role.
- Proficiency with inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- Understanding of safety protocols and PPE usage.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
