We are hiring a dedicated Receiving Clerk to join our San Diego, California warehouse operations. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our receiving process. Your responsibilities will include unloading trucks, verifying received items against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and documenting all inbound shipments. Meticulous record-keeping and attention to detail are essential. This role is key to maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting our overall logistics operations. A strong commitment to safety, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is required. The position involves frequent lifting and requires the ability to stand for extended periods. You will work closely with our inventory and shipping teams to ensure a seamless flow of goods. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Verify the quantity and accuracy of received goods against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Inspect incoming merchandise for any damage or defects.
- Accurately record all received items into the warehouse management system.
- Stage received goods for put-away or processing by other departments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues to supervisors promptly.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehousing, or logistics is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Physical ability to perform frequent lifting up to 50 lbs and stand for long hours.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety regulations and PPE.
