We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our team in Portland, Oregon. This position is essential for the smooth operation of our warehouse and logistics network. You will be responsible for managing the flow of materials, ensuring they are handled safely and efficiently from point of entry to exit. Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and store incoming materials and products.
- Accurately pick and prepare orders for shipment based on documentation.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in inventory management tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment according to safety standards.
- Ensure the correct use and maintenance of all required PPE.
- Perform duties involving significant lifting, carrying, and moving of goods, often exceeding 50 lbs.
- Adhere to all company and industry logistics regulations.
- Report any safety concerns or equipment issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role is required.
- Certification or experience operating forklifts is a significant plus.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activity, including frequent lifting and extended standing.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
