We are seeking a certified Forklift Operator for our San Diego, California distribution center. This role is essential for the smooth and efficient movement of goods within our facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will expertly maneuver forklifts to load and unload inbound and outbound shipments, relocate inventory, and assist with order fulfillment. Safety is paramount in this position, and adherence to all operational guidelines and best practices is required. You will be a vital link in our logistics chain, ensuring timely and accurate handling of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric pallet jacks) to move materials.
- Load and unload trailers and containers.
- Transport inventory to and from racking systems and designated staging areas.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment and report any defects.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding material movement.
Qualifications:
Valid forklift operator certification. Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment. High school diploma or GED. Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting up to 40 lbs. Thorough knowledge of warehouse safety standards and material handling techniques. Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and stand/walk for extended periods.
