Join our Richmond, Virginia team as a Shipping Clerk and be a vital part of our distribution network. This role is essential for managing the accurate and timely dispatch of all outgoing orders. You will handle the preparation of shipping documents, coordinate with shipping carriers, ensure proper packaging and labeling, and maintain an organized shipping area. A high degree of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication are required. This position is key to our logistics success, ensuring our products reach customers efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Verify outgoing shipments against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Schedule and coordinate with third-party shipping carriers for pickups.
- Ensure packages are properly packed, secured, and labeled for transit.
- Track shipments and provide status updates as needed.
- Maintain an orderly and safe shipping and receiving area.
- Manage shipping supply inventory and reorder as necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Adhere to all company safety standards and utilize necessary PPE .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and online carrier platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including regular lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics principles and shipping best practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to a safe and secure work environment.
