Our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania logistics center is looking for a skilled Material Handler to manage the movement of goods within our facility. This role is crucial for maintaining an efficient workflow and ensuring that materials are in the right place at the right time. You will be responsible for operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to load, unload, transport, and store materials. Attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a physically demanding environment are essential. This position requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds and involves continuous movement throughout the warehouse. We strictly enforce safety protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to ensure a secure working environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse.
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization.
- Assist with inventory counts and tracking.
- Inspect equipment before and after use.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification (preferred).
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Physical strength and ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and proper PPE usage.
- Strong understanding of logistics and inventory management.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
