Our growing logistics operation in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking a motivated Shipping Clerk. This role is critical for ensuring that our products reach customers on time and in perfect condition. The Shipping Clerk will manage all aspects of outbound shipments, from order verification to carrier coordination and final dispatch. Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and prepare all outbound shipping orders.
- Verify that order details match shipment contents and destination information.
- Schedule and manage freight pickups with carriers, ensuring efficient scheduling.
- Ensure packages are correctly labeled, packed securely, and meet carrier specifications.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, such as pallet jacks.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the shipping area.
- Communicate effectively with customer service, inventory control, and transportation teams.
- Strictly follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of appropriate PPE.
- Identify and report any shipping errors or potential delays.
- Maintain shipping logs and records for tracking purposes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar warehouse role is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with shipping software and online tracking systems.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of shipping best practices and safety protocols.
- Commitment to adhering to safety guidelines and wearing provided PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
