We are seeking a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to manage outgoing shipments at our busy facility in Jacksonville, Florida. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all orders are accurately processed, packed, and dispatched on time. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding safety standards within our logistics operations. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and document outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with carrier regulations.
- Verify order accuracy and quality before packing and shipping.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and pack products securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Generate shipping labels and bills of lading, accurately entering data into the shipping system.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup schedules and delivery information.
- Track shipments and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
- Maintain an organized shipping area, ensuring efficient workflow and accessibility.
- Adhere strictly to all warehouse safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with stock management as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners regarding shipping status.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related warehouse/logistics role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and preparing shipping documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle packages and occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and order verification.
- Familiarity with different shipping carriers and their requirements.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all PPE guidelines.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
