We are hiring a skilled Material Handler for our busy warehouse in Baltimore, Maryland. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the movement and organization of materials throughout the facility. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods using forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensuring that materials are stored correctly and safely. A strong understanding of logistics and inventory flow is beneficial. We provide comprehensive training and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure your safety. This position requires the ability to handle frequent lifting and physical exertion. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Ensure materials are properly stacked, stored, and secured.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock management.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to safety standards.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, especially concerning safety and the use of PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Support the receiving and shipping departments as needed.
- Contribute to the efficient flow of goods within the logistics network.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is a significant asset.
- Ability to read and interpret load charts and equipment manuals.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including significant lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with logistics operations is a plus.
- Reliable and punctual.
