We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Reach Truck Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a reach truck to move, pick, and store materials within our distribution center. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring timely order fulfillment and accurate inventory management. You will be part of a fast-paced environment where safety and efficiency are paramount. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to workplace safety are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck to move pallets of goods throughout the warehouse.
- Pick and stage orders accurately and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks as needed, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing of loads.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks of the reach truck and report any malfunctions immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Follow all handling procedures to prevent damage to goods.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating a reach truck.
- Valid certification or license to operate powered industrial trucks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Experience in a logistics or distribution environment is a plus.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety shoes, vest, and hard hat when necessary.
