Are you a skilled Forklift Operator looking for a challenging opportunity? Our bustling distribution center in Detroit, Michigan is seeking a reliable and experienced individual to join our logistics team. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, locate, replenish, and stage products. Your role is critical to ensuring the efficient flow of inventory, supporting both receiving and shipping operations. Safety is our top priority, and we expect all team members to adhere strictly to established protocols. This position demands a keen awareness of your surroundings and a commitment to operational excellence in logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move inventory.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist with put-away and replenishment of inventory.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movement.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Certified Forklift Operator with at least 1 year of experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center setting is essential.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics practices.
- Ability to perform substantial Lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent understanding of Safety procedures and hazard recognition.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Commitment to wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
